Since mid-2026 Corton Audio has been lucky enough to expand our ever growing services to include live streaming. We have spent countless hours on live stream testing, thousands of dollars on equipment and upgades to ensure we meet our clients demands.
Corton Audio can offer live streaming as a standalone service or alongside one of our many other professional event & production services.
What is live streaming?
Live streaming is streaming (via a camera) over the internet, your event, function or funeral for viewing across the world in near-real time (usually within approx 20-seconds but may be more).
How it works?
Our team will arrive at your event or funeral, set-up all of our equipment including cameras, audio equipment and internet devices. We then test internet speeds, ensure audio equipment is working and test the system, we will then live stream your event, project or funeral whilst monitoring the stream, operating cameras and recording the event, project or funeral.

Although we understand that gear alone doesn't always make a service any better it's important to note, Corton Audio use name brand equipment for our live streaming from brands including:
Sony, AJA, Rode, Netgear, Apple, Dell, Manfrotto, Vimeo, StarLink and OBS.
Why live stream?
We get it, sometimes live streaming can seem expensive for some... We fully understand this, we also understand that live events and funerals can be a moment to be togther and support each other in person and be physically present.
The thing to consider is:
- Does it save thousands of dollars in flights to get home?
- Can people watch the stream that may to too unwell to be phisically at the event?
- Do you require viewers from around the world?
Can a live stream "drop out"?
Unfortunately yes, although we do everything we can to reduce this occuring. It's important to note Corton Audio do use third party services from Optus, Telstra and Starlink... Any of these services can go down at any time (without notice) and/or fluctuate data speeds at certain times of the day depending on specific tower use and loads. Obviouslly we have no control over this scenario and it is completely unforseen.
Don't stress, if for some reason a live stream does go down and cannot be bought back online and "live" due to third party outages, each event is recorded and will be posted at the soonest available time when back in a secure internet environment for viewing at a later date.
Our 4G/5G and Sat carriers:
Corton Audio uses a variety of 4G, 5G and Satellite networks from Telstra, Optus and Starlink to enable us to adapt to the ever changing enviornment in which to live stream.
How Corton Audio try to reduce outages during a live stream:
Outages can happen at any time due to third party provider outages, network loads and other aspects that may affect the live stream.
On arrival at the site of the live stream, our team will run a number of tests across our provider networks to see which provider has the "best" and stable upload speeds (at the time) enabling us to get our live stream out to the server and to those watching a live stream.
We then choose the best (out of often three) provider types and choose to use this based on the testing at the time prior to the service. This puts the stream in the best posible position to reduce downtime in the stream.
A real life live stream encounter...
At Corton Audio we are honest about our services and will always do the absolute best we can to bring a live stream to viewers.
At a recent funeral service in a small country town we arrived to undertake live stream services. On testing we found Telstra to be absolutely terrible in this small country town with very little (if any) and patchy upload speeds.
We decided to run both Starlink and Optus in this scenario and on choosing the best we went with Optus at a slightly lower bitrate whilst Starlink running and set-up as a back-up option.
This enables us to be flexible whilst choosing the best possible solution for the client on the day.
How much does it cost?
Live stream packages start from $600.00 ex GST and vary depnding on each individual event, project or job.

Our business has our own live streaming server can you use that?
Generally yes, however we will require the following:
- What the stream service provider is (Vimeo, Twitch, YouTube etc);
- Access to a stream key (usually an RTMP);
- Stream link to view and monitor the stream.
